36Kr.com, 6/26/18

Suzhou-based voice recognition technology provider Sibichi Information Technology (AISpeech) recently announced completion of a new RMB 500 mln round of funding led by Suzhou-based Oriza Holdings and China Minsheng Investment with participation by Shenzhen Capital Group, Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW), and Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek (MTK). Sibichi plans to pursue a market listing and hopes to list on a Chinese capital market.

Sibichi's business operations broke even in 2017 and the company hopes to turn a profit in 2018. The company has formed a partnership with an unspecified major chip maker to establish a joint venture subsidiary, and the parties have already begun development of a smart voice interaction AI chip.

Sibichi mainly offers human-computer interaction technologies, products, and services based on smart voice and natural language processing technologies. Its business is concentrated in two areas. First, its smart terminal business operations include a DUI open platform, voice chips, and vertical solutions for vehicle, home, and robot Internet of Things applications; the company's technology is already used in more than 100 mln smart terminal products. Second, Sibichi plans to launch a new business assistant/enterprise smart services product line in the near future.
