China May Build Overseas Electronics Parks

China Business News, 11/06/07

Yesterday, the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) mentioned that the Chinese government was investigating the possibility of Chinese companies establishing electronics parks in both Russia and Vietnam. Deputy director of the MII's economic reforms and operations division, Wang Bingke, has revealed that a delegation is currently in Russia inspecting the situation there, and a second delegation is about to head off to Vietnam. Wang also stated that by moving the complete supply chain overseas, the domestic electronics industry could not only diversify production, but also help reduce unnecessary trade friction.
