Putian Establishes Broadcasting Department

Putian Group (Potevio) has followed up its recent establishment of a telecommunications department with a new broadcasting department.

Putian VP Xu Mingwen explained that the company has been working in the broadcasting industry since 2006 and has close working relationships with both manufacturers - including Motorola, Sony and Alcatel - and broadcasters in Shenzhen, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Guangdong, Chongqing, Changsha and Jilin.

Putian is currently able to supply comprehensive solutions for broadcasting networks. For cable networks this includes digital headend equipment, digital and analog tranmission systems, distributed and user access systems, and network management and support systems. It also supplies end-to-end wireless broadcast solutions.

Putian also announced a strategic partnership with Tsinghua University's Shenzhen Research Institute, which will see Putian invest over RMB 100 mln in the formation of a joint digital TV research institute. Putian will also pay over RMB 200 mln for at least a 30% stake in Tsinghua subsidiary Leaguer Digital, and may later increase its holding to as much as 51%.
