Full Set of Terrestrial DTV Standards Expected in H1

Southcn.com, 1/31/08

An industry insider has revealed that the Academy of Broadcasting Science and Academy of Broadcasting Planning, both of which are under the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), have completed the formulation of 6 terrestrial DTV supporting standards. The 6 standards have also passed assessment by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC). It's estimated that these supporting standards will be officially launched before or after the Chinese New Year (February 6 to 12), while the other 11 supporting standards will, at the earliest, be completed by the end of June.

The first 6 supporting standards are basic standards for terrestrial DTV networks and frequency, while 7th to 10th are related to technical specifications and measuring methodologies of technologies for transmitters, receivers, ports and so on, the 11th to 14th provide detailed testing rules for previous standards, and the 15th to 17th are modification standards.
