Chinese game developer CDC Games has increased its level of investment in the BBMF Group, a Japanese 3G content provider. The investment is a strategic move on CDC's part, designed to expand the company's business scope and also help the company provide online mobile games for 3G networks. Over 60% of Japanese mobile subscribers use 3G handsets, and the Japanese 3G content market is expected to reach USD 1.2 bln by 2008. CDC now owns a 20 percent stake of BBMF, worth approximately USD 10 mln. BBMF has 40 mobile online games, and over 550 employees located in Tokyo, Nanjing and Taiwan.
