Baidu and Partners Launch 6 Browser Games

Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) new gaming platform, http://youxi.baidu.com, went live recently. The site is initially offering six browser games: World Hegemony, Tiankong Zuo'an, Fangbianmian Sanguo, Luanwu Chunqiu, Empire, and XBA Manager. World Hegemony was developed in conjunction with Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA), and Tiankong Zuo'an was developed with Beijing-based developer Huancheng Interactive. The other four games are operated in partnership with Beijing Xin Yu Brothers Internet Technology (51wan.com). Each game has a dedicated section on the platform.
To use the games developed with Shanda and 51wan, users will need to register separate accounts with Shanda and 51wan; Tiankong Zuo'an requires users to register a Baidu Games Entertainment account. According to the website, a server for platform games will be made open to the public on April 23.
