US Gaming Company Opens Studio in China

Informed sources have revealed that Seattle-based casual game developer Popcap has recently opened a new development studio in China, the company's sixth studio worldwide. The studio currently has 10 staff with plans to grow to 30 by the end of the year, with most staff being developers. In addition to being responsible for the localization of existing Popcap games and the development of new titles, Popcap's China studio will also provide support for the Asia-Pacific market.
Currently Popcap has given non-exclusive licenses for its products to several domestic operators, including game developer and operator Tencent (0700.HK).
