Shanghai Securities News, 5/15/08

According to a source close to China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), good results from outdoor testing in Beijing's outer suburb of Huairou have prompted the company to instruct eight cities to upgrade their TD-SCDMA networks to HSDPA by the end of May - giving theoretical speeds of 2.8Mbps. Sources at Datang, China Putian (Potevio) and ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) have privately confirmed this news.
