China Mobile TD-HSDPA Upgrade Completed

A source at China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) recently confirmed that the company has fully upgraded its network from TD-SDCMA to HSDPA in ten cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Qinhuangdao, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Shenyang, Baoding and Qingdao. The source also revealed that Guangzhou will increase its number of TD-SCDMA base stations by 10%-20% later this year.

Xiao Ping, the deputy general manager of Konka (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ) has stated that the soonest Konka will have an HSDPA mobile phone available will be the beginning of next year. A source at Yulong has revealed the company is making major investments - worth tens of millions of RMB - in the technology.
