Netcom Payphones Support Beijing Transit Card

Tencent Tech, 7/09/08

Beijing Netcom's official website claims the company is cooperating with the firm that operates Beijing's One-Card public transit pass. As a result, Beijing residents can use their transit cards at more than 5,000 public telephones in the city. Areas of coverage currently include the capital city airport (including Terminal 3), the Olympic venues and village, public transit stations, all of Chang'an Avenue (one of Beijing's major roads), the second and third ring roads and several other areas. Card users making local calls will be billed at RMB 0.2/minute for the first three minutes, and RMB 0.1/minute afterwards. Long-distance calls within China (but not including Macau, Hong Kong or Taiwan) will be billed at RMB 0.2/minute.
