Giant Interactive Records Q2 Profit of 351 mln

Chinese online game developer and operator Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) has announced its unaudited financial results for Q2 2008, with net revenues reaching RMB 504.8 mln (USD 73.6 mln), up 36.3% year-on-year and 7% quarter-on-quarter.
Net income for the quarter came to RMB 350.6 mln (USD 51.1 mln), up 32.7% YoY and 3.5% QoQ.
During the quarter, combined active paying accounts (APA) for its online games ZT Online, ZT Online pay-to-play, and Giant Online, reached 1.76 mln, an increase of 41.0% YoY and 21.7% QoQ.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) for online games was RMB 285.9, down 3.2% YoY and 12.1% QoQ. Average concurrent users (ACU) for online games was 620,000, up 20.3% YoY and 13.4% QoQ. Peak concurrent users (PCU) for online games was 2.34 mln, up 118.1% YoY and 42.1% QoQ.
