Baidu Appoints New CTO

Chinese online search firm Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has announced the appointment of Li Yinan as chief technology officer (CTO), effective October 6. Prior to joining Baidu, Li served as chief telecommunications scientist and vice president at Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei. Baidu has also made HR adjustments to its technical team, appointing Shao Hui, former VP in charge of technology at social networking site 51.com to the position of technical director of its systems department, and promoting Chen Yunmin to the position of deputy director of technology.
