Telecom revenues were RMB 70.6 bln (USD 10.4 bln), bringing the cumulative year-to-date total to RMB 538.5 bln (USD 79.2 bln), up 8.5% over the same 8-month period of 2007.

Traditional (i.e. non-PHS) fixed-line subscribers decreased slightly, by 110,000, to just under 278.0 mln.

Broadband added over 1.5 mln new registered users to reach more than 79.3 mln, while dial-up Internet access lost 250,000 users, dropping to 15.3 mln.
