Rumor: Tencent Completes QQ IP Address Encryption

According to a source at Chinese instant messaging (IM) developer Tencent (0700.HK), on November 13 the company successfully incorporated IP address encryption procedures into its IM client QQ that will prohibit QQ users from using unauthorized plug-ins to detect the IP addresses and hidden online status of other users.
