Sumavision to Launch DTV Remote Payments

Zheng Haitao, chairman and president of DTV software and systems provider Sumavision Technologies, has revealed that the company will begin trials of DTV remote payment next year in Beijing. This information has also been confirmed by a source at cable TV operator Beijing Gehua CATV Network (600037.SH).

Sumavision has already developed DTV remote payment software that supports television shopping and online payments, and will be ready for commercial use in the first half of next year. In the future, further expansion to incorporate other e-commerce functionality is possible.

In addition to Beijing Gehua CATV Network, other companies have also expressed interest in this value-added service, including Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary (000917.SZ), and Inner Mongolia Broadcast Television Network.
