China Unicom Plans Broad Deployment of WCDMA in 2009

A source at China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) has revealed that the company plans to complete 3G WCDMA network deployment for all large Chinese cities in the first half of 2009, while medium-sized or larger cities will all have operating 3G networks by the end of 2009.
