ZTE, UTStarcom and Huawei Win Shanghai IPTV Deal

The number of IPTV users in Shanghai has exceeded 700,000. In September 2008, Shanghai Telecom announced bidding for a four-stage IPTV platform expansion project that would expand the network by 300,000 lines to achieve a total of 900,000 lines. Chinese telecom equipment vendors ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), UTStarcom (Nasdaq: UTSI), and Huawei won the bidding.
