Unicom Budgets RMB 80 Bln for WCDMA in 2009

A source at China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) familiar with the situation says the operator has already passed a budget of RMB 80 bln for WCDMA network construction next year, and asked province-level executives for their 2009 WCDMA investment plans in a phone conference today.
