Intel, TCL Ally on Internet TV

Intel and TCL Corporation (000100.SZ) have announced they will cooperate to develop an Internet-enabled television. The television set with use Intel's CE3100 chip, which, released in August 2008, has been specially designed to support Internet connectivity on consumer electronics equipment.

Eric Kim, senior vice-president of Intel and general manager of the company's Digital Home Group, has stated that Intel chose China as its base for Internet television trials because of the massive market potential in the country. This cooperation marks the continuation of Intel's Digital Home strategy.
