Rumor: Tencent Regroups South China Sales Department

Sohu IT, 12/18/08

Chinese Internet and wireless value-added services provider Tencent (0700.HK) has announced restructuring plans for its Southern China sales division, naming Dao Feng as director of the company's Southern China sales center. Dao will also be responsible for the division's restructuring. At the same time, Tencent announced that former marketing division head Xiao Feng has been relieved of his post.

In early December, rumors were circulating about problems in Tencent's Southern sales divisions. Tencent later explained that routine internal reviews had found three sales staff suspected of disciplinary violations. The three employees were suspended from the company pending further investigation, but Tencent has denied rumors suggesting the three had been arrested.
