9You May Invest in Taiwanese Game Developer

Taiwanese online game developer Softstar Entertainment's board has met to discuss increasing its number of investors and investment capital, with Chinese online game developer and operator 9You looking to participate in the private placement. The placement will be worth between TWD 100 mln and 150 mln (RMB 20.7 mln to 31.1 mln), with the new shareholders taking a 10% to 20% stake in the firm.

Softstar has indicated that two or three investors are being discussed, and that it hopes to partner with manufacturers that can assist it in developing in the Chinese mainland and overseas markets.

9You purchased mainland rights to Softstar's MMORPG Chinese Paladin for over TWD 100 mln over a year ago.
