iPanel Receives USD 37 Mln Investment

Suhu IT, 1/04/09

Orchid Asia Group Management has formed a cooperative agreement with Shenzhen-based DTV set-top box middleware provider iPanel Technologies that will see Orchid Asia invest USD 30 mln in iPanel. The decision is in large part due to iPanel's role in the provision of digital television software.

At the same time, Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary (000917.SZ), out of consideration for future strategic industry development and as an iPanel customer, has also invested RMB 50 mln (approx USD 7.35 mln) in iPanel through its subsidiary Shenzhen Fortune Venture Capital.

Currently, all four major publicly traded broadcasting companies in China have chosen to use iPanel software.
