Noah Education Q2 08/09 Net Profit Down 36%

Chinese interactive education content provider Noah Education Holdings (NYSE: NED) has announced its unaudited results for the 2008/2009 second fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2008, with net revenues reaching RMB 135.4 mln, up 10.6% over the same period last year.

Net income for the quarter came to RMB 8.8 mln, down 36% YoY.

Quarterly revenues for digital learning device (DLD) products were RMB 71.5 mln, down 14.1% YoY. Net revenues from its recently introduced kid learning device (KLDs) were RMB 36.9 mln. Net revenues for e-dictionary products decreased 31.3% YoY to RMB 25.2 mln.

The company expects revenues in the range of RMB 205 mln to RMB 210 mln for the third quarter of fiscal year 2008/2009, representing an increase of 11% to 14% compared to the prior-year quarter.
