MIIT: 2008 IT Industry Revenue Increases 12.5%

2008 revenues for the IT industry totaled RMB 6.3 trln, up 12.5% year on year. The industry increased in value by RMB 1.49 trln, up 14.6%. IT product imports and exports totaled USD 885.4 bln, or 35% of China's total trade. Exports totaled USD 521.8 bln, up 13.6%; imports, USD 363.7 bln, up 5.4%. Revenues from software products totaled RMB 316.6 bln, up 32% year-on-year. Software outsourcing service revenues totaled RMB 20.3 bln, up more than 100%.
