Chongqing Unicom, Telecom Adjust GPRS Packages

Chongqing Unicom has announced it will increase data limits for its monthly GPRS mobile data packages. Monthly data limits for its RMB 5, RMB 20, RMB 100 and RMB 200 packages will increase from 10M, 50M, 800M and 2G to 30M, 150M, 2G and 5G respectively. The company will also offer RMB 2 per 10M and RMB 50 per 500M packages.

Chongqing Telecom will begin charging hourly rates for mobile data, with packages including RMB 5 for 5 hours, RMB 10 for 10 hours and RMB 20 for 20 hours.

Editor's Note: On January 1, China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) also made adjustments to its data packages, increasing the monthly data limits for all of its plans.
