Tudou Obtains Broadcast Rights to Chinese TV Show

Chinese online video sharing site Tudou has confirmed it has obtained broadcasting rights to the television series "My Chief, My Regiment". According to Tudou, its broadcasting rights are equal to those recently obtained by online video-sharing site Youku for the same television series.
A source also cast doubt on Youku's claims that it would perform a simultaneous broadcast of the show alongside the televised broadcast, stating that a single television station will broadcast the first airing, with online broadcasts to follow shortly thereafter.
On February 23, Youku announced it had obtained the premiere broadcasting rights to the television series, and that the series would be broadcast simultaneously by 4 television stations and Youku from the beginning of March.
