Rumor: Sina Develops Web Browser

An industry source has revealed that Chinese Internet portal Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) is developing its own browser, which will soon be released. The source, who had a beta-version of the browser, said the software was developed by "Sina Software Studio" and lists its version number as 2.20.000 (build 0325). Links to Google, Baidu, Sina and Sina Blog are given prominent positions on the navigation bar.
Sina and Microsoft previously announced a cooperation, and on March 23, released a Sina-branded version of Microsoft's latest browser, Internet Explorer 8.
