Tencent Cooperates with CAS on Technology Development

Tencent Tech, 4/08/09

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)'s Institute of Computing Technology kicked off its effort to work with technology infrastructure services companies today, with internet, mobile, and telecommunications value-added services provider Tencent (0700.HK) acting as the first company to receive technical staff: two technical advisors will be sent to Tencent's headquarters. Reportedly, the two organizations will work with Tencent to resolve some technical challenges facing Tencent's behind-the-scenes technology - primarily working on virtualized snapshot management technology, and on shortening as much as possible the time between server hangs and the resumption of service, and from there working to improve the basic experience of internet users.
