China Satcom Appoints New Executives

China Satellite Communications Corporation (China Satcom) recently convened a general meeting of leading officials where it was announced that former Satcom general manager, Rui Xiaowu, has been promoted to deputy general manager of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), and will be replaced by Wu Jingfeng. Guo Hao, former deputy general manager at China Satcom, has taken a new position at China Telecommunications Corporation as assistant general manager, in charge of China Telecom's services that were previously part of China Satcom.

Editor's Note: China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently issued an announcement stating that approval has been granted for China Satcom to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of CASC. Satcom's long-distance, digital trunking and satellite phone services were previously merged with China Telecom.
