17173.com, 4/21/09

Chinese online game developer and operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) released a notice on its official website for the recruitment of customer service staff for the 3D MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW). The work location will be Shanghai Zhangjiang Micro-electronics Port, a building located several buildings away from the offices of WoW's current operator The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY). The recruitment includes positions for game masters (GM), customer service staff, training staff, a GM Leader, a customer service manager and quality assurance staff, with preference for those with WoW knowledge. As of 9am on April 21, the first day the company started accepting applications, Netease's recruitment webpage showed that 6,882 resumes had already been received.

Editor's Note: Netease recently won the 3-year operating rights to WoW after negotiations between Blizzard and The9 broke down. The9's existing operating rights expire in early June.
