Baidu to Provide Travel Information

Bianews, 4/23/09

Chinese online search firm Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has launched a travel channel which provides search services for travel information and also links to most commonly searched-for travel terms, with links leading to Baidu's search results. The service has not yet been listed on the menu of Baidu's products. The page is also subject to regular changes and updates, including the removal of a weather report service. The site states the product is still in beta. An industry source reported that the service will be officially announced during the upcoming May Day holiday.

Baidu also indicated that the site is part of its recently announced open data sharing platform Aladdin.
