Rumor: Alibaba, UCWEB Cooperate on Mobile E-commerce

A source with a wireless value-added service provider (SP) has said that Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba.com (1688.HK) and mobile browser developer UCWEB have reached a cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, Alibaba will invest approximately USD 12 mln in UCWEB to create an e-commerce service for the mobile Internet. So far this information has not been confirmed.

Editor's Note: According to Sina Tech, a reliable source said Alibaba is in negotiation with UCWEB for strategic investment involving several million US dollars. Currently this project is in the negotiation stage and details have not yet been decided.
