Sohu to Sue Video Sites over TV Series

Chinese Internet portal Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU) and the Beijing Xinbaoyuan Movie and TV Investment Co have held a rights-protection press conference after discovering online video sites were broadcasting the TV series "My Youthfulness" for profit, without authorization. Sohu mentioned that it has already served infringing companies with legal notices, asking them to delete the offending content. Although a number of sites have complied, other online video sites including Xunlei, Ku6 and 56.com not only did not remove the content but also increased promotion for the series. Sohu mentioned that it planned to take legal action against the above three companies.
