MediaTek Invests USD 2.5 Mln in Mainland Software Company

Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek announced yesterday it will invest USD 2.5 mln (TWD 82.25 mln) in mainland handset software platform developer Vogins.

Established in 2005, Vogins focuses on mobile handset middleware development and services, particularly its Virtual Runtime Environment (VRE) mobile solution. In March 2009, Vogins and MediaTek jointly promoted the VRE platform.
