Skytone to Launch Android-Powered Netbook

Pan Jize, founder of Chinese embedded system design firm Skytone Transmission Technologies, has announced that the company plans to officially release a line of netbook computers at the beginning of July based on Google's Android operating system, with screen sizes ranging from 7- to 8.9-inches.

Pan stated that Skytone is currently in talks with operators over bundling, and has already found one distribution partner, which a source at Skytone revealed was Guangzhou Telecom.

Pan mentioned further that Skytone will place preliminary emphasis on overseas markets, and is currently in cooperation talks with Malaysian and South African operators. According to Pan, sales of Android-based netbook computers in Europe and America could reach 10,000 per month within a year of launch.
