Online and mobile e-commerce platform www.5i25.com, which is managed by China Mobile and China UnionPay's joint venture, Union Mobile Pay (UMPay), has officially begun online open beta trials. The website is primarily oriented toward providing younger demographics with custom-ordered products and services including small-sized genuine physical goods, as well as virtual products such as gaming cards, fee-based e-mail, and anti-virus software. 5i25.com has recently launched convenience services including payment functionality for phone, water, electricity and gas bills as well as a lottery service.
5i25.com provides integrated online and mobile payment methods, with users able to purchase products either through online bank payments, or payment upon delivery. China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) subscribers are also able to make payments through mobile phone credit or bank accounts connected to mobile numbers.
