An engineer for Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) email service confirmed that hardware problems in a recent round of server upgrades had caused some users to lose all of their stored email. The problems occurred mainly around late May's Dragon-Boat Festival holiday weekend; though Sohu technicians took quick action to address the issue, recovery of the lost messages now seems unlikely.
