Rumor: China Mobile Reveals TD-SCDMA Equipment Bid Ranking

An informed source has revealed that rankings for the third round of China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) TD-SCDMA equipment bids have been released, with ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), Huawei, and Datang Telecom (600198.SH) (in a joint bid with Alcatel Shanghai Bell) leading. The remainder of the bids were snapped up by Nokia-Siemens Networks, Putian (Potevio), Fiberhome (600498.SH), Ericsson, and Guangzhou New Postcom. Industry insiders predict that the bid breakdown by market share should be released within a week.

An additional report cited a source as saying that the fourth round of bidding should come towards the end of the year, and will likely follow the same structure as previous rounds.
