Giant Launches New Version of ZT Online for Budget Players

Sina Tech, 6/19/09

Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) announced that it had opened two new "green areas" for its MMORPG ZT Online. The company said the new areas were aimed at non-spending and low-spending customers. Compared to the older areas in ZT Online, the character attributes, rankings, experience points, and props of the "green areas" have been modified to better suit low-spending players, and new rules have been set up limiting the use of experience point-related in-game props in order to shrink the gulf between players of different rankings. Giant has also removed the "treasure chest" functionality, which allowed players to win high-ranking weapons, in favor of a new "weapons honing" functionality allowing for free upgrades to equipment.
