Rumor: GAPP Reviews Netease, Blizzard Joint Venture

According to an industry insider, China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) has ordered the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Press and Publication to thoroughly review the joint venture MMORPG operating company started by Blizzard Entertainment and Chinese game operator Netease (Nasdaq: NTES). The news, which is yet to be confirmed, originated in an article published on news website China Online, but was deleted from the site this afternoon.
