Baidu, Discovery Co-launch Chinese Language Website

Chinese online search engine Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has announced it is teaming up with Discovery Channel Asia to launch a Chinese language Discovery search channel and interactive learning platform, discovery.baidu.com.

Baidu will operate, maintain and update content on the channel. As content provider, Discovery will be responsible for delivering and translating the latest content for the Chinese market. Content will be supported by advertising, and Baidu and Discovery will split equity and revenue generated from third-party advertising sales.

The two companies will subsequently cooperate to promote science education projects in secondary schools across China.
