Beijing Telecom Launches MMS Services

Beijing Telecom recently unveiled MMS services, with both a la carte and three package subscriber plans. Beijing Telecom subscribers are now able to send an MMS message for RMB 0.50 and receive MMS messages for free. In addition, they can also purchase a package of 20 MMS messages for RMB 5, 60 MMS messages for RMB 10, and 120 messages for RMB 20. China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) CDMA network, originally launched in 2001 by China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH), had never previously supported MMS messaging.
