Techfaith Subsidiary Purchases Freescale Division

Taiwan media has reported that semiconductor manufacturer Freescale announced the sale of its mobile chipset division to Jingxin Semiconductor, a subsidiary of Chinese mobile phone solutions provider TechFaith (Nasdaq: CNTF), at a low price of USD 50 mln. Jingxin said that after acquiring Freescale's mobile chipset division, it will begin active development of 3G and 4G mobile chipsets and comprehensive solutions.

Freescale was established by Motorola when it spun off its semiconductor division in 2004.
