China Unicom Offers Domain Name Registration

The official website of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) recently reported that several China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) provincial subsidiaries have established .CN domain name registration services.
An industry source divulged that Shandong Unicom, Beijing Unicom and Hebei Unicom are carrying out trial services. The move, which is seen as an important step towards offering comprehensive 3G business services, will bring Unicom up to speed with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) and China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK), which already offer domain name registration.
