Founder H1 2009 PC Sales Volume Up 8.3% YoY

Founder Technology Group (600601.SH) president Lan Hua revealed that Founder's PC division shipped 1.62 mln PCs during H1 of this year, up 8.3% YoY, and slightly above the industry average growth of 7.6%. The company had revenues of RMB 3 bln, down 2.54% YoY.

Lan predicted that Founder's channel coverage in first- through third-tier cities would reach 100% during H2 of this year, as well as topping 80% in fourth-tier cities and 40% in fifth-tier cities.

According to Lan, Founder has completed preliminary preparations for its planned three-year transition to a "customer-friendly industry," restructuring its human resource structures and policies and cutting 13% of its workforce while raising salaries by an average of 30%.
