China Mobile to Release New Version of Fetion

In order to combat increasingly rampant Fetion SMS fraud, China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) will release a new version of its Fetion mobile instant messaging software featuring improved security at the end of this month. The new version of Fetion will require users to set more complicated passwords, with passwords judged too weak resulting in limited user privileges. The new software will also allow users to report fraudulent messages online.
