BOE: Self-Branded LCD TVs a Long-Term Goal

A source within Chinese TFT-LCD manufacturer BOE Technology Group (000725.SZ) has said that production of self-branded LCD televisions is a long-term objective, but that in the short term large-scale production and sale of BOE self-branded LCD TVs is not possible.
BOE Technology Group announced yesterday that it plans to launch a BOE TV set manufacturing project, and its intention to invest RMB 386 mln in establishing Beijing BOE Video Technology Company, which will be responsible for TV set R&D, production, and sales.
