GAPP to Release New Regulation on Online Anti-Piracy

At a press conference announcing the launch of the China Internet Video Anti-Piracy Alliance's second-round initiative, online video-on-demand provider Voole's CEO Shao Yiding said that China's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) would issue new anti-piracy regulations by the end of the year. The regulations will strengthen the penalties for online piracy. He also said that the China Internet Video Anti-Piracy Alliance had received the support of GAPP and the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT).
