Rumor: Kingsoft to Produce RMB 30 Mln TV Series

A source inside Chinese developer Kingsoft (3888.HK) has reported that the company will invest RMB 30 mln next spring to film a television drama based on its JX Online game series. The RMB 30 mln budget will reportedly cover shooting for a planned 26 episodes. The scripts for the series have been turned over to the production company for final edits; no decision has been made yet as to director or male and female leads.

In addition to the television series, which will air in spring 2011, Kingsoft is also working on a "movie-like grand finale" that will air online, on television networks, and on CCTV-6 over the 2011 May Day holiday.
