China Mobile, Huawei to Demo TD-LTE at World Expo

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has selected Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei to deploy a TD-LTE demonstration network for the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. The network has already been partially deployed. Expo visitors using TD-LTE terminals will be able to enjoy mobile broadband download speeds up to 29Mbps.

Huawei provided LTE wireless network access, SAE core networks, terminals, chipsets, and other end-to-end products and solutions for the network. The network will support multiple wireless broadband applications including HD video broadcast, HD video surveillance, high-speed mobile internet, and mobile information services.
